Book

A Faerie's Secret

Calla Larkenwood wants nothing more than to be a guardian, but her overprotective mother has never allowed it. Battling fae creatures is too dangerous a job for a young girl, and there’s that pesky magical ability she needs to keep hidden from the Guild. How can she do that if she’s working right under their nose?

When circumstances change and Calla finally gets to follow her dream, she discovers guardian trainee life isn’t all she hoped it would be. Her classmates are distant, her mentor hates her, and keeping her ability a secret is harder than she thought. Then an Underground initiation game goes wrong, landing Calla with a new magical ability she can’t control. She needs help—and the only way to get it is by bargaining with the guy who just discovered her biggest secret.

Join beloved characters and new heroes as the bestselling Creepy Hollow series continues.

Review

As I already said, I loved the first three books! I f I didn’t mention it before, this would be such a great saga to adapt into film. The action is amazing, the world that is created in these books exceeds your wildest imagination. Fans of the Hunger Games, the Divergent books, or even the Harry Potter books will love these ones!

This book has a slightly different feel to the first three. Calla is not Violet. She is not as forceful and brutal as Violet, but more composed, and it takes a little getting used to in the beginning. The pace seems a little slower. But that is just Miss Morgan easing you into what is to come. Soon you are on this same fast-paced, adrenaline rushed quest to save what is dear, and solve what seems so mysterious.

Now off course there is some great romantic tension in this book, and a return appearance of the old characters from books 1-3. Sadly you are left with a HUGE cliffhanger. Usually I don’t mind that too much, as I tend to wait for the sequel if I know that is how the book will pan out.  I do sooo hope Miss Morgan will give us a HEA for Calla, because the spin at the end of this book put me into a sour mood. I didn’t see that one coming, and I’m not ready to accept a bad ending for Calla (sorry I can’t say more without giving it all away 🙂 )

But not to worry, the next book is due in October 27th, so we will get the answers we are all waiting for very soon.
